the nature of love by `MSJames:iconMSJames:

`

Every time I see the moon
I remember that hole
you ripped in the sky
the night we first kissed.

~~~
Bared and branched out
I climb her trunk
with no ropes
and no net
clinging, clawing
my way up
from the foot-root
to the pinnacle prize
of sunlit lips
and adoring eyes
exhausted
I collapse into limbs
soft as beech
where sleep comes
in the swaying breeze.
~~~

and twilight never comes;
even beyond midnight
the sun shines brightly
lying softly beside me.

A sweet lullaby of a poem James! Very thoughtful, exotic and all the adjectives that are lovely in the world I can think of...Thanks for sharing this!

Worthy of a :+fav: for "foot-root" alone.

But I must say, this reminds me of Shel Silverstein's "The Giving Tree".
